As a 2-sport athlete at Brockport she was part of both the ladies soccer as well as lacrosse team's. Norman excelled as a soccer player at Brockport, where she was on the defensive end of the game. She was a formidable blocking player as well as skilled in making smart decisions in analyzing the offensive strategies of teams that were not hers. Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports when she was 14. She began training in kickboxing boxing BJJ and wrestling before completing her first amateur appearance at 18 at WCFC in a fight against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd had an amazing 3 fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. In all three, she finished her opponent within the first round. She then went back to WCFC to beat Leslie Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Aspen beat Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia had a superior record to Aspen in the fight, beating her by unanimous vote. Cynthia's amateur records were marred. Ladd beat Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff, and increased her amateur record to 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in the year 2015, when she signed as a player with Invicta FC. Invicta Fc 11 was her first fight.
