Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers to DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
